The Wedding Singer
August 6th through September 5th
The Palace Theatre

The historic Palace Theatre in Georgetown stages the hit Broadway musical The Wedding Singer, opening on Friday, August 6th, for a five-weekend run.  Based on the popular 1998 film and written by Tim Herlihy - who also wrote the screenplay - along with Chad Bequelin and Matthew Sklar, the Georgetown production is directed by Ron Watson.
Set in 1985, rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer.  He's the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar.  Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own.
When the charming waitress Julia wins his affection, Robbie discovers she is about to be married to a Wall Street shark.   So Robbie must pull off the performance of a decade, or the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
Performances run Fridays and Saturdays are at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays are at 2 p.m.  Ticket prices are $22 for general admission, $20 for seniors, $12 for students and active military, and $8 for children 15-years-old and younger.
The Palace Theatre is located at 810 South Austin Avenue in Georgetown, a half-block off The Square.  For reservations and more information, call (512) 869-7469 or (512) 869-5081, or visit www.TheGeorgetownPalace.org.
