Tapestry on the Fringe
Tapestry Dance Company
January 30th
VORTEX Repertory Theatre

Tapestry Dance Company member and choreographer Matt Shields returns to the VORTEX Repertory Theatre for a one-night Tapestry on the Fringe performance on Monday, November 28th, at 8 p.m.  Winner of "Best of the Fest" at the 2011 FronteraFest Short Fringe, the new show features and evening of tap dance, live music and poetry.
In August 2010, the 21-year-old Tapestry Dance Company began Tapestry on the Fringe as an experimental rhythm and dance concert series.  Mixing Austin's top tap dancers, poets, singers and musicians with a new atmosphere, the performance series has grown into a unique local performance event.
Featuring short vignettes and original scenes by Matt and the professionals of Tapestry Dance Company, the Janaury show - dubbed A Little Help From My Friends - plays with “rhythm, rhyme and sometimes no reason at all,” Shields said.  He will be joined on stage by a team of musicians, artists and his students from the Tapestry Academy
Tickets for the one-night event are on a sliding scale from $10 to $50, and will be available at the door.  The VORTEX is located at 2307 Manor Road.  For tickets and more information, call (512) 478-LAVA (5282) or visit www.VortexRep.org.
