America's famed
comedy troupe, The Second City, visits the State Theatre
downtown on Friday, March 2nd, for two performances of its
"Laugh Out Loud Tour." Tickets go on sale this
Thursday, December 15th, at 10 a.m.
The next generation of the
comedy world's best and brightest will take the stage in an
evening of sketch comedy and Second City's trademark
improvisation. The Second City company launched the
careers of John Belushi, Mike Myers, John Candy, Tina Fey,
Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and
more than 500 nationally-renown comics.
Founded in Chicago in
1959, The Second City continues to produce the premiere comic
talent in the industry. The Second City has grown well
beyond a single stage to become a diversified entertainment
company, with training centers in Chicago, Toronto and Los
Angeles teaching thousands of students every week. In
addition, four touring companies perform Second City revues all
over North America and abroad.
Performances will be at 7
p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and tickets are $28. The State Theatre is
located downtown at 719 Congress Avenue, next door to the
