Esquina Tango will again host its monthly night of tango dance at the non-profit arts group's headquarters. The evening will include tango classes at 9 p.m. followed by dancing with Glover Gill and Tosca Strings until 1 p.m.

Glover Johns Gill and his group - Glovertango - draws on arrangements from the Golden Age of Tango to perform the passionate and captivating traditional music of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The group combines faithful renditions of early 20th century tangos, milongas, and waltzes with original compositions in the classic style.

Gill leads the group on accordion and bandoneón, with Justin Sherburn on piano and Chris Maresh on bass. The renowned Tosca String Quartet completes the ensemble, creating a tango orchestra in the tradition classic groups such as Francisco Canaro, Carlos Di Sarli, Anibal Troilo and Osvaldo Pugliese.

Esquina Tango Cultural Society of Austin is a non-profit organization working to build a vibrant and diverse community in East Austin. The group emphasizes culture, health, and dance - with an emphasis on Latino heritage, recreational tango and other Argentine traditions - to foster personal wellness and promote understanding of Latino culture.
