Esquina Tango
March 31st
Esquina Tango Cultural Society Center

Esquina Tango hosts and Argentina-to-California concert at the non-profit arts group's headquarters with the group Los Pinguos.  The evening of Latin rhythms begins at 9 p.m.
Coming to the United States from cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, Argentina, the sound of Los Pinguos has claimed fans worldwide - from their hometown to the streets of Los Angeles. Their mixture of Latin rhythms are performed with Spanish guitars, a Cuban Tres, Peruvian cajón (box-drum), bass and harmonizing vocals.
The group’s story began in 1999 when Adrián Buono, José Agote, Juan Manzur and Juan Manuel Leguizamón - and later joined by bassist Santiago Lee - formed the band to play in clubs, bars and private parties throughout Buenos Aires. Their exciting, passionate live shows garnered a devoted fan base, inspiring the talented ensemble to pursue global attention.
Esquina Tango Cultural Society of Austin is a non-profit organization working to build a vibrant and diverse community in East Austin.  The group emphasizes culture, health, and dance - with an emphasis on Latino heritage, recreational tango and other Argentine traditions - to foster personal wellness and promote understanding of Latino culture.
Tickets are $10 at the door.  Esquina Tango is located at 209 Pedernales Street.  For more information, call (512) 524-2772 or visit online at www.EsquinaTangoAustin.com.
