Scottish Rite Children's Theatre Readies "Friendlier, Funnier" Christmas Carol

Just in time for the holidays, the Scottish Rite Children's Theatre is preparing an original, family-friendly production of A Christmas Carol, opening November 13th and running through December 12th.  Based on Charles Dickens' classic story, the new stage version is written, composed and directed by Michael McKelvey.

On Christmas Eve, Scrooge sits alone counting his cash and is visited by friendlier, funnier versions of the ghosts of Christmas Present, Past and Future. The ghosts show Scrooge the errors of his crotchety ways and help him make an overnight transformation from grouchy to grateful.
Written for young audiences with original music and songs, the interactive play is designed to teach the values of kindness and sharing.  The production is geared toward family members of all ages.
Performances are Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.   Two additional weekday performances will be offered on December 1st and 2nd at 10:30 a.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children ages one through 12, and $4 for infants under one year.  Seating is general admission, and limited tickets may be available at door, one hour before performance.
The Scottish Rite Theatre is located at 207 West 18th Street.  For advance reservations and information, call (512) 472-5436 or visit www.SRCT.org.
