ZACH Theatre continues their 2011-12 Season with the Central Texas premiere of the multi-award winning musical Next to Normal - an inventive, emotional powerhouse production about one family who is about to face the music. Performances run January 25th through March 4th.

Winner of multiple Tony Awards, the groundbreaking work features a book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and a thrilling contemporary score by Tom Kitt. Dave Steakley directs an all-star, award-winning cast that includes Meredith McCall and Jamie Goodwin (The Drowsy Chaperone), Andrew Cannata (Rent), Joshua Denning (Hairspray), Johnny Newcomb (Spring Awakening) and Kelli Schultz (High School Musical).

"I am so thrilled that we'll produce the Central Texas premiere of what I think is the best piece of theatre in the past five years," Steakley said. "Next to Normal is one of only three musicals to ever win the Pulitzer Prize - it knocks me out!"

The creative team includes musical direction by Allen Robertson and musical staging by Caitlin Carter, from Broadway's Chicago. Michael McDonald provides costume designs, with scenic design by Michael Raiford, lighting design by Jason Amato and sound design by Craig Brock.

Performances will run Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. The Champagne Opening Night is Saturday, January 28th, with party to follow, and the GLBT Wilde Party Night will be Thursday, February 9th. Tickets range from $25 to $65, with $18 Student Rush Tickets available one hour before showtime with valid ID.
