The Crapstall Street Boys
Trouble Puppet Theatre Company
January 24th through February 4th
Salvage Vanguard Theatre

Trouble Puppet Theater Company will debut their latest work, The Crapstall Street Boys: A Trouble Puppet Show, as part of the FronteraFest 2012 Long Fringe.  The dark comedy plays January 24th through February 4th at the Salvage Vanguard Theatre.
Czech marionettes are used to tell the darkly hilarious and wickedly smart story of You Lad, a workhouse boy dodging boy-eating monsters.  Sold by his Mister and Missus to the workhouse, he assembles anti-monster security devices and enormous amounts of packaging in a city clogged with garbage - and infested with ravenous, boy-eating monsters. As hunger and desperation get the better of You Lad, he discovers the connection between the monsters, the garbage, and the dwindling number of boys.
This utilization of Czech marionettes - designed and built by Artistic Director Connor Hopkins - represents Trouble Puppet Theatre Company's foray into a new style of puppetry.  The performance group is the recipient of such B. Iden Payne Awards as "Outstanding Direction of a Drama," "Outstanding Original Script," "Outstanding Production of a Drama" and "Outstanding Puppetry."  Dedicated to the creation of outstanding works of puppet theater for grownups, both of Trouble Puppet's 2011 mainstage shows made the Austin Chronicle's  "Best of 2011" theater lists.
      Performances will be January 24th at 9:15 p.m., January 28th at 11 p.m., January 29th at 3:15 p.m. and February 4th at 6:45 p.m.  Tickets are $10 for general admission.
The Salvage Vanguard Theater is located at 2803 Manor Road.  For tickets, information, and a complete list of FronteraFest performances, visit www.FronteraFest.org.
