The Austin Classical Guitar Society hosts the return of the popular "Classical Cactus" concert series at the storied Cactus Café on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, beginning on January 19th. Partnering with the Cactus Café and KUT Radio, the Austin Classical Guitar Society will be presented the music series monthly on select Thursday evenings through May 10th.

The "Classical Cactus" series features renowned local and regional classical guitar artists performing in the intimate surroundings of the Cactus Café. Often regarded as the best live acoustic room in Austin, the venue has served as an early home to performers such as Alison Krauss, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams and more.

Artists scheduled for the Classical Cactus concert series are:

- January 19th: Janet Grohovac at 8 p.m.,

Chad Ibison at 9 p.m.

- February 16th: Joe Williams at 8 p.m.,

Kethara Duo at 9 p.m.

- March 22nd – Michael Gratovich at 8 p.m.,

Duo Transatlantique at 9 p.m.

- April 19th: Nicolas Emilfork at 8 p.m.,

Tony Morris at 9 p.m.

- May 10th: Eric Pearson and Stephen Krishnan at 8 p.m.,

Mark Cruz at 9 p.m.

The Austin Classical Guitar Society is the largest entity of its kind in the United States and is recognized as one of the leading guitar performance and education organizations in the world. Founded in 1990, the organization is now beginning its 22nd season and features an five International Concert Series concerts and three Summer Chamber Music Series events.

Tickets for the "Classical Cactus" concerts are $5 for general admission and are now on sale at www.CactusCafe.org.
