Esquina Tango Hosts Charanga Cakewalk in Special Concert on October 17th

    Esquina Tango will host Charanga Cakewalk for special live concert event on Saturday, October 17th.  Described by the Austin Chronicle as “Latin rhythms, bending, zapping, and shape-shifting to create a blazingly distinctive sound,” the concert will be held at the non-profit cultural organization’s headquarters at 209 Pedernales Street.

     Michael Ramos - the man behind Charanga Cakewalk - has been lauded as a spectacular musician and producer who incorporates elements of Cumbia, Latin percussions, and traditional Mexican grooves into dynamic cutting-edge electronica.  Charanga Cakewalk is currently being featured in the most prominent venues in Austin.
     Esquina Tango Cultural Society of Austin is a non-profit group striving to build a vibrant and diverse community in East Austin - and beyond.  Through culture, health, and dance - with an emphasis on Latino heritage, recreational tango and other Argentine traditions - the group hopes to foster personal wellness and promote understanding of Latino culture.
     Charanga Cakewalk performs from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a special guest DJ following until 1 a.m.  Tickets are $15 at the door, or $10 before 9 p.m.
