Block Party
Thursdays in July
The New Movement Theatre

Every Thursday in July, the The New Movement Theatre comics offer the new “anything-goes open mic night” show - The Block Party.  The performance takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. at the East Austin comedy house.
Following the performance, the new “11:11 Cinematheque” begins at 11:11 p.m., featuring some of the comic’s favorite films.  This month, screenings will include Rambo: FIrst Blood Part II; Harvey; Trust Us, This Is All Made Up; Hearts of Darkness and Trekkies. Each film will be hosted by a local comedian who will be presenting the film with extra bells and whistles.
The theatre also offers Austin's only weekly free improv class - Improv Zero - on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.  The class is followed by The Shootaround Show at 8 p.m., where everyone is invited to jump on stage and play.
Tickets to the Block Party are $2 per person.  Tickets for the film screening are “Pay What You Wish.”
The New Movement is located at 1819 Rosewood Avenue, on the corner of Rosewood and Chicon, next door to the Nubian Queen Lola's Soul Food.  for more information, call (512) 788.2669 or visit www.NewMovementTheater.com.
