Ballet Austin's Not Afraid of the Dark Returns on September 18th and 19th

Ballet Austin II brings back the production that turns darkness into a place to laugh, sing, clap, dream, dance and do everything imaginable - except be afraid.  The original glow-in-the-dark ballet - Not Afraid of the Dark - returns to the Paramount Stage on September 18th

and 19th.
With songs by children's entertainer Joe Scruggs and choreography by Ballet Austin's artistic director Stephen Mills, the premise of the production brings to life a night in the life of a child.  The show opens children chasing the fireflies as they begin to appear and flash their lights.
As dusk turns to twilight the children go inside for a bubble bath, followed by a gingerbread man chase before donning pajamas for bed.  The sandman appears along with his pixie friends to help sing the children to sleep and off into vivid dreams.  The production - performed on a darkened stage with glow-in-the-dark special effects - has won critical raves and continues to be one of Ballet Austin's most-produced original shows.
     Performances are September 18th and 19th at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Tickets are $14.
The Paramount Theatre is located at 713 Congress Avenue.  For more information and reservations, call (512) 476-2163 or visit www.BalletAustin.org.
