Modern Dance and Human Installations on November 19th and 20th to Benefit

    Bellas Artes Alliance and The Violet Crown Players will produce a unique performance event on November 19th and 20th, revolving around our planet's endangered elements.  Entitled A New Future, <350 NOW!, the production features modern dance troupes Ballet Afrique, Diverse Space Youth Dance Theatre and Diverse Space Dance Theatre performing choreography by Austin legend Toni Bravo.
     In addition to the dance performances, the audience will be involved in creating human installations.  Hundreds of people will be enlisted to contribute in the building of giant-sized images - the human installations - that will be filmed from above and projected in real time onto the back of the stage.  The video will later be posted on the website.
     Both the dances and the images will represent the five elements that are affected by CO2 emissions: air, water, energy from the Sun, earth and human life.  The choreographic and video collaboration will benefit and

     Performances will be held at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center, located at 600 River Street.  The November 19th will be indoors starting at 8 p.m., and the November 20th performance will be outdoors starting at 6 p.m.
